Pupil Premium

Introduced in April 2011, the pupil premium grant (PPG) is extra money that is allocated to children who are looked-after or who have ceased to be looked after by the local authority, those who have been eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) at any point in the last six years (also known as Ever 6 FSM) and to children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces.

It is for schools to decide how the pupil premium grant allocated to their school is spent. Schools are held accountable for their use of this additional funding and how it is of educational benefit to those children it is allocated to.

Parents and Carers can check their eligibility for FSM, and apply online, without having to discuss the details of their circumstances with anyone at the school via the government website https://www.gov.uk/apply-free-school-meals
