Ice

Year 1 have been learning all about ice! They learned that ice is simply frozen water. They also learned that water takes the shape of the container that it is poured into, and the frozen water becomes solid blocks of that shape. We then performed an experiment to see how solid the ice actually was, by trying to remove a plastic cube from the centre of a frozen block. Some tried banging the ice to make it crack or smash, some left it in the sun to melt, and others tried running it under water to melt the ice quickly. We had so much icy fun!
