Year 1 on the Moon?
Year 1 make Moon craters!
Year 1 have been making moon craters, using flour and heavy objects. We learned that the moon surface is made of rock and dust, and that asteroids (large rocks) smash onto the surface of the moon, leaving crater shapes. Year 1 re-created the surface of the moon by dropping heavy and light objects into bowls of flour from different heights, to see how deep the craters would be. We got a bit messy, but we didn't mind because we had so much fun!
