Year 3 put their maths skills into practice
Delicious biscuits!
Year 3 all had the opportunity to use their measuring skills as they undertook the task of baking biscuits.
In small groups, they worked collaboratively to follow the recipe and used the weighing scales to measure the mass of flour, sugar and butter. It was crucial to weigh the correct amounts in order to produce the dough- if there was too much butter it would be too sticky, but if there was too much flour it would be too dry.
Year 3 also learnt how to separate eggs and how they needed to measure the volume of vanilla extract (1 teaspoon) rather than the mass.
Year 3 made some delicious treats and Alma Primary was filled with a scrumptious smell!
