Computing

At Alma Primary, we are becoming computer masterminds! Children will acquire a deep, long term, secure and adaptable understanding of computing’s three main areas (computer science, information technology and digital literacy). Children will begin to become digitally literate citizens of the online world. We are developing resilient problem solvers who can approach problems with logic and the knowledge to keep themselves safe in an online world. The priority in our curriculum is that of e-safety and of having the knowledge of where to look for guidance. The reasoning behind this is that safeguarding is a huge focus (with a focus on teaching children how to keep themselves safe) and the knowledge that technology is moving at a sufficiently quick pace that although it is useful to be taught specific skills, knowing how to find information or places to improve those skills is more important.

We use the Ilearn2 program of study, designed to meet national curriculum objectives and guidance.
