On Thursday 30th January 2020, we had a visit from Daniella, who works at ‘Camp Simcha.’ She came to talk to us about ‘The Treehouse at Number 9’ books, which were written to celebrate diversity and disability. We read ‘Meet the Genies’ together and worked through a series of tasks to celebrate the characters for their strengths, the challenges that they overcome each day and learnt all about the things that they enjoy doing. Year 5 demonstrated great empathy and compassion throughout the session.
