We have launched a consultation about our proposed Admissions arrangements for 2019.
The significant change to the policy is the addition of priority place for children who are in receipt of Early Years Pupil premium. This is in response to the 2015 recommendation from the Department of Education to give schools the option to give priority for places to such children. Early Years Pupil Premium provides additional school funding for children classed as coming from deprived backgrounds for the purpose of supporting attainment.
Although this is not a compulsory requirement for schools, the governors agree that including a specific provision in our admissions arrangements reflects the ethos of the school in which inclusion and diversity are at the core. The Governors have proposed that that priority should be applied at the point that we allocate proximity and faith places and in order to reduce the impact that this will have on the number of remaining places, limit this to one place per criteria.
